New camera, same lovely beads

It seems since I started making beads I've been trying to find a way to photograph them. Small shiny objects of glass are so satisfying to create. Documenting them, not so much. Armed with a new camera I decided it was time to have another go at it. This time I reached out to a fellow beadmaker, Jinx Garza, for some insight. Her bead photos have always been super dreamy and absolute perfection. Putting her tips to use I was able to capture the photos below. It seems I'm on the right path at last. Yeah!!
Pretty purple and cranberry set

Back Burner

I pulled some Vetrofond oddlots out of my glass rack on a whim today. They've been patiently waiting for their turn at the torch for a while now. These rods changed pretty dramatically once they were heated up and pressed into paddles shapes. Testing new glass seems to always fall to the bottom of the to do list. Just one many things on the back burner in the studio. Tomorrow I will make a few beads in a couple of styles for each color. I'm looking forward to seeing what else this glass has to show me.
